TESTIMONIALS

My name is Ty Backer and I own a chocolate lab named Kodi. I bought the dog with no real knowledge of retrievers and figured a dog was just a dog. Kodi cost me 80 dollars from a local back yard breeder. I happened to be browsing on KSL where I stumbled across Utah Bird Dog Training. When I dropped Kodi off he had a desire to retrieve but no real interest in birds. I went and saw Kodi a month and a half in and oh boy was he a different dog. He would just light up when he saw a bird and his obedience was very sharp. Tyce sent me pictures almost every week and kept me well informed on how Kodi was doing. When I went to pick my dog up after his 3 months was up I was amazed! That same day I entered Kodi in a top dog contest where he took 4th place out of about 25 dogs. Sending Kodi to Utah Bird Dog Training was the best thing I could have done for my dog and for myself. My little 80 dollar timid dog is now a well behaved bird hunting machine! I have already had some great experiences with my dog since I got him back and I know I have thousands more ahead of me. Thanks Tyce!!!!

Tyce did a great job with Boulders force fetch, I was extremely happy with his work and his obedience is wonderful. When i got boulder back he was a whole new dog. Tyce stands bye his work and makes sure you are satisfied and is very willing to lend advise. When I got boulder back, Tyce made sure i was knowledgeable of the commands, which made for a very smooth hand off.

Thanks Tyce

I am Spencer Whiting. I heard about Tyce Erickson from a friend that knew I was looking to buy a new lab pup. My friend told me about Tyce and referred me to his website to get more information about his current litter. I was excited to see he not only offered great blood lines, but training for hunting dogs as well. I phoned Tyce and arranged to meet with him and to pick out my dog. I knew right away Gator was my pup. We discussed future training opportunities. Gator wasn’t guaranteed to be a pointing lab, but I was told by Tyce he could bring it out of him. Sure enough when Gator was six months I sent him off to Tyce for his three months of training. Tyce continually sent me emails with pictures as well as updates to how the training was coming along. Tyce was kind enough to allow me to visit Gator during his training and I could tell a vast improvement with his obedience and retrieving. It was incredible to see because Gator was stubborn with me as a pup and I couldn’t get him to retrieve to my hand. Tyce pulled out Gator’s desire to retrieve and hunt. By the end of Gator’s three months; he was a lean, mean, hunting machine. And as a special surprise, Tyce was able to get Gator to point! I have been hunting with him several times since and his point continues to improve! Tyce made for a smooth handoff and made sure I knew all of the commands and was confident in giving them to Gator. We even bought several pheasants and worked with those commands and Gator’s point the day I picked him up. I could tell Gator was going to be an incredible hunting dog. Tyce Erickson is always willing to lend advice with Gator and his future. I highly recommend Tyce to any hunter that wants their dog to be a world class hunter. He knows what he is doing! I want to thank Tyce and his wife, Rachel, for everything. I feel like I’ve not only received the best dog, but a great friendship with Tyce as well.

Thanks Tyce!

Tyce,

I wanted to drop you a line and let you know how pleased we are with Oggie and Tess since we got them back from their training. Oggie although only one year old and still a big puppy has retained his training lessons and is all business when I put him through retrieving drills. When I brought him to you last December he was as hard mouthed as he could be and now when he feels me touch the bumper he gives it up immediately.

Oggie's mom Tess was probably as unruly a dog as you have had to deal with and I admit that is a result of me not doing my part as a responsible owner. After one month with you Tess has returned home and is doing great with her obedience and has also developed a very soft mouth.

We are able to bring both dogs into the house and have them sit on their pillows and they stay there until I take them back out to their kennels. Because of the training they received from you we are able to enjoy our dogs so much more.

Thanks again Tyce and if you ever need a reference I am yours for the asking.

Yella and I have been getting into some birds despite the hot golfing weather. The action has really slowed over the last couple of days though, hopefully we will get some storms. She has been doing great and has retrieved 20+ birds over the last couple weeks. Several were cripples that kept diving on her, but she stayed with them and got every single one, even one that sailed out to 150 yards and kept diving on her. She has been able to mark several falls and go right to them. A few were a little confusing for her, trying to pick out a dead bird among 80 decoys, which 26 of them are big goose floaters, but she is getting better and better with more experience. A few landed where she was not able to mark, but I was able to handle her to them. She does not break and holds the bird all the way after climbing in the boat until told to "leave it". She loves what she is doing and has retrieved every single bird we have shot. Overall she is doing awesome, and I have more fun watching her retrieve the birds then I do shooting them.

Thank you so much, Tony

My name is Travis. I bought a black lab last November from a local breeder because I was tired of losing my ducks. I quickly learned that a dog doesn't hit the ground knowing how to retrieve a duck. I was amazed it took me as long as it did just to get him to sit. I went out with my good buddy Ty so he could help me work with my dog. He suggested I should look into taking him to Utah Bird Dog Training. At first I was a little nervous about whether or not it would really be worth it. I decided to give it a try. When my dog went to Utah Bird Dog Training, he was afraid of water. He listened only when he felt like it and he loved to chew my birds up before they ever got back to me. After two shorts months with Tyce, my dog was a water charging , obedient, retrieving freak. It was almost like I got a totally different dog back. Now, well into the hunting season, it seems like he sometimes has even more desire to hunt than I do. Sometimes, he spots the birds coming in way before I see them. It's amazing what two short months has done for my dog that will be hunting with me for a long time.

Thanks a lot Tyce!

Hi Tyce,

We just wanted to give you an update on Mylee. First of all, we are SO impressed with what you have done for her in the past few months. I can't believe she's the same dog! They boys took her hunting in Wyoming yesterday with their grandpa and had a great day. My dad has owned hunting dogs his entire life and he was very impressed with her hunting and obeying skills. They shot 7 birds and she retrieved every one of them. We are so happy with everything. Thanks for all you did to help her become an amazing dog!!!

Sincerely,

The Bloechel Family & Mylee
