Commonly Asked Questions

  • Can I come visit my dog?  Absolutely, anytime you want to see your dog just give me a call a day in advance and I will bring your dog to my house.  We can then show you how your dog is doing and go over its training together.
  • Will my dog remember who I am?  I have yet to see a dog that has completely forgotten who its previous owners were.  The time goes fast and before you know it your dog will be back home- and as good as new!
  • I don't know if my family will let my dog go for three months or longer?  I take a few special measures here at Utah Bird Dog Training to ensure your family feels as close to your dog as possible. The main thing being weekly picture and email updates of your dog. At the beginning of each week I will take my camera to the kennel during training.  I will take a few pictures of your dog and email them to you along with a small update on how your dog is doing and what they are working on.  This helps the seperation during the training to be alot easier!  Past customers aboslutely love this and plus you get some fun pictures of your dog!
  • What food should I feed my dog? When it comes to food, you get what you pay for.  Stick with a high quality brand with good protein and fat content.  I like the Enhance Pro Formula.  This can be purchased at any of your local IFA stores.  Any high quailty brand of food will work good for your dog during its training.
  • How often will I have to work with my dog after I get it back from training?  The more the better, but lets get realistic everyone is busy with work and life.  If you can work your dog twice a week for 15 to 20 minutes this will help to keep your dog sharp.  Your dog will never forget his or her training.  As long as you reinforce what has been taught your dog will stay sharp and be a good hunting dog for you down the road.
