Tyce Erickson is the owner and head trainer of Utah Bird Dog Training, LLC. He grew up in Orem, Utah into a family of outdoor enthusiasts. At twelve years old his dad bought him his first shotgun, a browning BPS and by the age of 18 he had already worn the gun out from so much bird hunting! Ever since he could remember he would go hunting with his dad and brothers for pheasants, ducks, and big game every fall. At age fifteen he had already saved enough money for his own duck hunting boat, all the gear to go along with it, and had trained his first black lab. Tyce has been training bird dogs full time here at Utah Bird Dog Training, LLC for over 15 years and counting. He loves bird hunting and all of the good things associated with it: good friends, sunrises, sunsets, sights and sounds of nature and of a course the bird dogs! Tyce has been member and judge for the American Pointing Lab Association and enjoys running dogs in the American Kennel Club and American Pointing Lab Association sponsored events. He has run and titled dogs from the Junior and Certified level to the Master and Grand Master level in the APLA and AKC hunt tests. Tyce also breeds and trains top end pointing labradors and field bred golden retrievers. Tyce has worked with pretty much all the great pointing and retrieving breeds used in the hunting industry and understands the different breeds and what it takes to help them become a quality gun dog. If you can relate to Tyce and our passion for hunting behind a well trained bird dog, than you have come to the right place!
Jeff Brinkerhoff
Jeff Brinkerhoff has been with Utah Bird Dog Training since 2015. Jeff was born in Alabama and moved to Utah when he was a young kid. Jeff has always loved shooting, but was introduced to the hunting scene later in life, but quickly grew to love bird hunting and bird dogs. Jeff understands and is trained on the Utah Bird Dog Training program and has a great attitude with the dogs. Jeff loves bird hunting and of course the bird dogs. Jeff is a hard worker and wants to make the best hunting dog possible for our clients. He has trained all the major pointing and retrieving breeds and has a good knowledge base of what it takes to make the different breeds tick. He is honest and hard working and we are grateful to have him as part of the Utah Bird Dog Training team. May I ad he is a great shot with the shotgun, not many birds get away from Jeff when he is around!
Ian Norton
Ian Norton has been with us since 2016. He has been a great asset in helping us produce awesome dogs coming out of our training program. He has a great can do attitude and he is awesome to be around. Ian was a mechanic in his earlier days, but with little convincing we talked him into training dogs. He has torn it up learning the Utah Bird Dog Training method and program and can train any dog he puts his hands on. Ian personally owns a lab for waterfowl hunting and a Brittany/Viszla cross that is a great little upland dog that he uses when hunting upland game. Ian was born and raised in south Utah County and is a hard worker. He really cares about helping to produce the best dogs possible for our clients. Ian is passionate about bird dogs, hunting and loves the outdoors. We feel lucky to have Ian as part of our team!
