Over the years of training dogs, we have found that training the owner how to handle the dog is just important as the dogs training its self. To help with the transition process of the new owner learning to handle their dog we have created step by step videos that walk your through how to handle your dog once it comes home. We have found these to be very valuable as the human brain can only absorb so much information at one time. You can go back and watch these videos as much as you want until you know exactly how to handle your dog. We want you to be a great handler of your newly trained dog and these videos will guide you through the process. Just watch, follow and you will be handling your dog like a pro in no time.
How do I know what commands to give my dog?
Before your dog comes home in addition to the videos, we will email you a list of commands so you know exactly what to use when talking to your newly trained companion.
Even more help......
We want you to see your dog in action. Before your dog goes home, we will shoot some short film of your dog working through its obedience training and also some hunting action. If your dog is here for waterfowl or upland training we will film shooting a couple of birds over it in the upland field or picking up some ducks in a training session so you can see your dog doing the work!
If just here for obedience, we will run the dog through its obedience and send it to you so you can see it working also!
Take dog hunting as much as possible!
Just like anyone that is good at what they do, practice makes perfect. Your dog know has the skill set now to go hunting, so let's put it to use! Your dog is still growing and learning, so the more practice hunting doing the real thing the better the dog will continue to get. Training, maturity and experience will help polish your dog into a fine animal. Just like with any bird dog, the more birds the better!
What if I have questions?
We are here for you! If you have any questions after getting the dog home, following the instructional videos, thoroughly reading through the commands and watching the videos of your personal dog working through its training please let us know. If you do, that is okay! We will be here to help with any questions you might have. If you can't get them answered and figured out over the phone, we will meet in person and get you the help you need. We hope that you will bring back to us your second, third and fourth dog in the future to be trained. We love these amazing animals and are passionate about seeing the owners become good handlers! We love the team work and look forward to helping you and your dog become the best they can be.
