Confirm health
Current on vaccinations, and on a heartworm program (or dewormed within the last month). A six-month or yearly heartworm shot is easier than monthly pills.

Send the $100 deposit
That holds the spot and applies to the first month. Pay it here on Venmo (@TyceErickson), or pay by card there (includes processing).

We confirm, then schedule drop-off
You will hear from us when the deposit arrives. About a week before start, we set a drop-off time.

Bring these at drop-off
A regular collar (ID tags are fine), a copy of shot records, and either one large bag of food per month or $75 / month for our Purina Pro Plan Sport feeding program. First month’s tuition, minus the deposit, is due at drop-off. Tuition is due monthly after that.

Pickup
Plan on an hour or two with us — not a quick handshake. We’ll work the dog together so you leave feeling like you can actually handle it. Watch the training videos before you come so pickup makes sense. You’ll need an e-collar to keep the training at home (SportDog 1825x or 1225x, or Garmin Pro 550 / Sport Pro). We’re a dealer and can get you one at a discount. What the first weeks at home look like is on After Training.

Things families usually ask
When can I drop off or pick up?
Weekdays, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM — usually morning or early afternoon so we can still get a training day in. Give us a heads-up so we’re not in the field when you pull in. If a weekend is the only way it works, we can do it for a fee: $100 to drop off, $200 to pick up. We know life doesn’t always land on a Tuesday.
Can I visit my dog while they’re here?
We generally ask families not to visit while their dog is in. It’s your dog, so if you absolutely have to come see them, we can make that work — we just want you to know it takes a real chunk out of the training day to arrange. That’s why we send a photo and a short update about every other week instead. Most dogs are done before you know it.
Do you have a spot open?
Sometimes yes, sometimes there’s a wait. Call or email and we’ll tell you honestly where the list is. Don’t plan a trip around a start date until we’ve confirmed it. If your dog is ready and we don’t have a kennel yet, have a backup so they aren’t in limbo.
How old does my dog need to be?
Six months is as young as we go. Most dogs come in between six months and two years — that teenage window when they start testing you is actually a good time to start. Older dogs are welcome too. They can still learn; we may just spend a little more time undoing habits they’ve already decided are “how life works.”
Does my dog need to be spayed or neutered first?
No. Your dog does not need to be spayed or neutered before they come in. Every dog has its own run.
Will my dog remember me?
Yes. We’ve never seen a dog forget its people. It feels like a long stretch when you drop them off. For them — and for you, once they’re home — it goes faster than you think. They’ll know you.
What do you feed?
Purina Pro Plan Sport Performance 30/20 — a working-dog food that holds up here. You’re welcome to send their usual food if that’s easier on their stomach, or we can feed for $75 a month so you don’t have to haul bags.
How much do I have to work with them when they get home?
As much as real life allows. You don’t have to become a full-time trainer. You do have to be consistent: same commands, same standards, wherever you take them. They won’t forget the work we did. They will test whether the rules still apply at your house. Hold the line and you’ll have a companion you can be proud of. More on the first weeks home is on After Training.
